セイロンベンケイ (Air Plant)

　セイロンベンケイ（ベンケイソウ科）、別名トウロウソウ（灯籠草）。葉から芽が出る無性生殖の性質を持つため、「はからめ（葉から芽）」の俗称もある。2012年4月8、12、13日、わが家で撮影。昨年は二つの植木鉢にこの植物の花が咲いたが、今年は5鉢に増えた。背の高いものは、私の身長を越えた（一番上の写真）。

Air plant, also known as life plant, miracle leaf and Goethe plant; botanical name, Kalanchoe pinnata (Lam.) Pers.; family, Crassulaceae. This plant has a distinctive nature of producing miniature platelets on the margins of its leaves. Photos were taken in our home, on April 8, 12 and 13, 2012. Last year, we had flowers of this plant on two flower pots; and this year, on five. One with the tallest stem exceeded me in height (the top photo).
